Bunny Companion is a companion electronic pet rabbit that users can wear on their chest. The rabbit has an OLED screen that represents its face, and its facial expressions respond to the user’s interactions. The user can place their finger on the rabbit’s chest, where a PPG sensor detects the user’s heartbeat. The rabbit then mirrors the heartbeat using a vibration motor, so the rabbit’s heartbeat vibrates together with the user’s. If the user does not interact with the rabbit for a long time, the rabbit becomes sad. To comfort it, the user simply places their finger on its chest again. There is also a light sensor on the rabbit’s chest. Covering it allows the rabbit to “sleep,” and it will also fall asleep automatically in dark environments. When the user is walking, the built-in accelerometer detects the motion, and the rabbit’s face displays an animation of heavy breathing.
